Translation of Words with Alt-accessable Chars

When I help translating, there are those Characters with a "_" in Front. I guess that are the Characters you have to press together with the Alt-Key to enter a Menu Point, but what if there isn't that Character in the Translation in my language?
Imagine given is "_File", The german translation is "Datei" what should I do with the "_"? "Datei (_f)" is ugly, but I think "_Datei" wouldn't work, as it's not programmed, right?

Translating it like "_Datei" will actually work.

So, I suggest you translate like that, but it might be worth checking with your translation team if they have a certain policy regarding keyboard accelerators (many teams do, because they are such a specific thing).

I see. So it needs more coordination in a Team. As I'm not in any Team, I'll leave such translations with _ Characters to the Teams. ;)
