automatically change status of milestone-targeted bugs on release

Asked by John Frankland

Hi,
I have been using Launchpad for nearly two years now,
and couldn't live without it!
Here is a small improvement I would like to suggest:
for projects using launchpad-hosted bazaar branches for code,
would it be possible to change bug statuses automatically to "Fix committed"
when a fix is committed using '--fixes lp:123456' in the branch associated with the
bug (either explicitly or because the bug is targeted to the series associated with the branch) ?
Also, when a bug is targeted to a milestone and the milestone becomes a release,
couldn't you automatically update its status from "Fix committed" to "Fix released" ?
I seem to spend a lot of time doing this "housework" which seems
unnecessary.
Cheers and thanks for all your great work.

I tried doing this. It broke Lp so it was removed. When we do this, the operation will happen asyc from the time of a release, so there may be a short period where the release is registered, but the bugs still say fix committed.

Can you help with this problem?
