Why can't you move bugs into the support queue and vice versa?

It seems like a lot of bug reports get shut down with a note saying that the requestor should file a support request, instead. Why can't the person that's doing that just click a button and shuttle the bug into the support queue automatically?

Because Curtis couldn't finish his patch in time for 1.1.9. But it will
be included in 1.1.10, and if you are a beta tester you'll know as soon
as the bug is committed :-)
