New projet disapeared

Asked by Ludovic Claude

Hello,

I created a week ago a new project on Launchpad, maven3-debian, but it seem to have disapeared.
I have created an associated team, https://launchpad.net/~maven3-debian-packagers, and it's still there and working.
I cannot create this project as Launchpad says that maven3-debian is already in use, but going to the homepage
https://launchpad.net/maven3-debian, I'm greeted with the message:
Lost something?

There’s no page with this address in Launchpad.

Thanks,
Ludovic

This is a question about user data, not a bug in Lp code.

https://launchpad.net/maven is already registered and you may use it. Projects in Launchpad are shared by communities. Lp supports one project per collection on bugs, branches, and translations. This project is also used to track packaging in distributions.

You want to register a 3.x series on /maven. You can contact ~ceefour about creating the series and making you the driver. You might want to discuss becoming the maintainer or the project, or suggest the creation of an owner team that both of you could be members of.

Hello Curtis,

I think that you did not understand what happened. I have created a project called 'maven3-debian' on Launchpad, whose purpose it to organize the packaging of Maven 3 and build a team around it.
This project was present on Launchpad a week ago, and I was able to change some settings, but now it has simply disappeared!
This looks like a bug in Launchpad, doesn't it?

I deactivated your project because it is not a legitimate use of Lp.

You can organise packaging in the project that already exists and is already linked to packages in distributions: /maven. Lp projects are not versioned (/maven3); their series are versions. Bugs, translations, and build recipes often pertain to many series.

Ok Curtis, now I understand. But next time you deactivate a project, please don't forget to inform the project owner about this and why you did it.

Regards,
Ludovic

I sent you an email on 2010-11-13. The deactivation script sends an email to the project maintainer.

I did not receive that email, it probably was filtered as spam. Sorry
for the noise then.
