Can we create an OER translation group?

I volunteer for P2Pu.org and we just created a project/team on Launchpad.
We think it would be great to create and Open Educational Resources translation group, so our team and others could collaborate on translating open education projects.
Is it possible? Is there any other group already doing something like this that we can join? If not, how should we proceed?

We already have a big translation group that does translations for many different free software projects: https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/LaunchpadTranslators

Perhaps that's the group you can use. In general, we avoid creating too many translation groups because that means owner of the group has to coordinate all the translation teams and such, which is usually too much for a small project. However, if you've already got a big set of translation teams, we'd be more than happy to open one for you. Just let us know if that's what you want, and we'll create one.

Do note that a translation group will allow you to assign teams/persons per language and control who can edit what translation. However, if you don't have many existing translators, you'll probably benefit more from using a pre-existing translation group like Launchpad Translators.
