Can I install Launchpad on my server and use it for proprietary software?

Asked by Juan Pablo

I'm a website developer, and I can't share some code, specially websites. It certainly would be impossible for me. So, seeing as Launchpad has been released as open source, I was wondering if I could simply install it on my server and have developers use the local copy and have our own Launchpad we can fully customize and host locally.

I don't have a problem with Open Source actually, I would release my code but I am working certain projects which I can't release its code, so I was wondering if I could still use Launchpad.

Thanks.

Yes, according to https://dev.launchpad.net/LaunchpadLicense you can use it, but you'll have to replace all the image and icon files with your own. Afaik, there's not much documentation as we generally prefer people to use Launchpad.net directly.

You can also get a commercial subscription to Launchpad instead: https://launchpad.net/+tour/join-launchpad
