Work items estimates and personel load balancing

Asked by Mounir Bsaibes

I am checking to see whether launchpad (maybe blueprints) provide a facility to check on Work Items assigned to a particular developer to see whether this particular developer is overloaded and cannot complete the work assigned to him/her.
If no facility already exists, what can one do to get this information, any suggestion is welcomed.

To begin with, probably i should have asked, can one assign a sizing/estimate to Work Items of a blueprint?

Launchpad do not have a comprehensive view of workload nor does it have estimates/sizing.

I have a good understanding of how to measure capacity and velocity for a milestone. I do not know how to estimate it for all items assigned to a user since it the user is not bounded by time, and the scope of work varies between projects.

The blueprint page for a user has a workload report that shows all assignments in launchpad. There is not sense of scope for the blueprints. There is also an assigned bugs report that shows information for all projects. The user profile page has a limited view of both blueprints and bugs. There is general agreement that users should have a dashboard page that shows all assigned workitems.

Curtis - You say: "There is general agreement that users should have a dashboard page that shows all assigned workitems."
Is this development in progress, or users can do it on the current release of Launchpad?

There are no plans (commitment) to develop a dashboard feature. The feature will most likely be created by a contributor.

Can you help with this problem?
