How do I recover an old user id when I've lost access to the email address it was registered under?

Asked by Carey Underwood

In 2005 I registered cwillu under sasktel.net, and then I moved to a different province and lost access to that account. I've been using cwillu.com as my user id since 2006, but the .com in there always bugs me.

As I understand it, you would like to rename your account to cwillu instead of cwillu.com.

Renaming this account isn't possible because your account has PPAs.

I have changed the name of the old account to ~cwillu-old, so you can now change your name to cwillu, but you will need to delete your PPAs. You can recreate them after a change, but the PPAs will also have their name changed.

Once your PPAs are deleted, you can use the Change details link to change your Launchpad ID (name)

Can you help with this problem?
