edubuntu-council mailinglist configuration

Asked by Stéphane Graber

Hello,

The Edubuntu council need a way for people to easily contact all of its members.
I tried implementing that through a mailing list on Launchpad but I have two limitations that we'd need to see changed before we can use it:
1) We need everyone to be able to send to it (just any regular e-mail address)
2) We don't want the archive to be publicly accessible (having access for the team would be nice but not necessary)

Is that something that can arranged on Launchpad or should we instead try to get another Mailing List setup on lists.ubuntu.com and then configure mailman to do what we want ?

If it's not possible to do that with Launchpad, I'd appreciate having the current mailing list removed completely as it was only used for testing so far.

Thanks

Launchpad lists cannot do this. In fact, not being able to contact all members of a team is an open bug because it is possible for all the team members to be unsubscribed from the list.

The "Contact this team" link on the team page will send an email to all members if the team does not have a Launchpad list set as the contact address. There message is not archived.

I think Ubuntu may provide better list options for you.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I'll see what I can get on lists.ubuntu.com

Can you completely remove the mailing-list associated to edubuntu-council ?
For now I just disabled it.

Thanks
