opendental subversion import failed: why?

Asked by Frederik Carlier

The import of code in the subversion repository for the opendental project failed. Can anyone explain me why it failed, and what I could do to get it working? Thanks!

This question was expired because it remained in the 'Open' state without activity for the last 15 days.

The svn URL to import, specified on <https://edge.launchpad.net/opendental/trunk> is
<https://70.90.133.65:23793/svn/opendental/head>.

That does not conform to the standard Subversion naming convention, and was blocked by bug 130883.

We should be able to attempt this import this week after Launchpad 1.1.8 is deployed.

Okay, the bug has been fixed in production. But the import still cannot proceed yet because the svn repository is served off a non-standard port.

I sent a request to our network administrator to allow our import system to connect there.

The code is not yet imported, keeping open.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. The import error was unusual, so it needed investigation. It turned to be an occurence of bug 69517, triggered by directory names containing space characters.

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you when this bug will be fixed. Probably not before 2008.

We fixed the bug and the import succeeded at long last and is now syncing properly, as can be seen at https://edge.launchpad.net/opendental/trunk.
