Note from translator to the developer?

Asked by LittlePanda

Hello,

I see that developers can leave a note to the translators for an item. Can the translator do the same? Recently I came across an item that was difficult to translate fully because the developer used string formatting and in the translation the order of the variables cannot be kept the same.

Thank you.

That is usually done by filing a bug. You should be able to click on "Bugs" while translating something and then it should be simple to add a bug. Copy and paste the actual English string that you want to be clarified or improved, and provide an URL to the message as well.

If you are translating Ubuntu, I'd also suggest adding another "bug task" for ubuntu-translations project (choose "Also affects another project" once the bug is filed).

Can you help with this problem?
