launchpad users near me

I think it would be great if I could see other launchpad users near me
and maybe invite them for a local pub meeting
of course some may find this invading their privacy and would hide their location from others
so a opt-in to allow this ?

I am not sure I understand your question. User can already choose to hide their location. As for Launchpad users, that is a challenge. Most users do not see themselves as launchpad users, they hack on Ubuntu and so they must use Launchpad. Users who report bugs or ask questions do not see themselves as Launchpad users.

The only user who say they are Launchpad users are members of https://launchpad.net/~launchpad-users. You can try to use the map to see users near you. You may need to reload several times because the team huge. I zoomed in and I saw 8 members near me.
