Information regarding building and running Launchpad can be found on : https://dev.launchpad.net/

I am not aware of any other private instance and there is not much documentation about that.
Still, there are many developers running private LP instanaces for development purpose and that is well documented.

It should be a start :)

Cheers,
Adi

thank you for your answer.
i have found this option already,
my question was is it possible to run just the Rosetta module and not the whole Launchpad system.
i would probably run the whole thing in the end.

You can not run the code from Rosetta module as a standalone apps.
One reason for that is that it depends on some other LP apps like Foundations, Registry or Librarian.

You can create a project in LP that is only using Rosetta.

Cheers,
