importing existing bugzilla to launchpad

Asked by Miika Komu

We have created a new project in launchpad called HIPL. We're imported code from hipl.hiit.fi and the bzr import was a success. Is it possible to import also our bugzilla (version 3.6) or should I do it manually?

My eyes didn't catch any documentation related to this. Thanks for your time!

Hi Miika,

Yes, it's possible for us to import your bugs into Launchpad for you. In order to do this, we need a copy of your bugs formatted according to the Launchpad bug import format, which can be found here as a Relax NG schema: https://help.launchpad.net/Bugs/ImportFormat.

At the moment we don't have a script that will convert a Bugzilla database to the import format, so it's really a case of what's best for you. You can either:

 1. Import the bugs manually (fine if you don't have masses of bugs to import)
 2. Write a script that produces a file in the import format (it may be that you can export your Bugzilla database as XML and convert it to import format using a stylesheet transformation).

Hope this helps.
