Controlling non code project

Asked by Mike Bennett

I would like to manage a project which does not consist of textual source code at all (is not compiled into binaries), but is itself in binary format.

Specifically it is a UML Repository, and I want to implement formal control of versioning and change management on this project. The controlled file is an Enterprise Architect .EAP file, which itself is the deliverable on this project.

Controlling separate XMI files (which are of course textual, but still not compilable code), would be an alternative but not my preferred approach for a number of reasons. In case anyone was going to suggest that.

Is this something it is possible to do on Launchpad?

Launchpad and Bazaar are best at managing source code or textual data, but you can certainly version binaries if you wish.

Can you help with this problem?
