changing uid when merging 2 accounts

Asked by Ritesh Raj Sarraf

I have an old LP account (rickysarraf). Recent I became a Debian Developer and looks like LP automatically creates an account (rrs). I went with the process of merging both. Unfortunately, it merged and used the name in the old account i.e. "rickysarraf".

To have it consistent in both Debian and Ubuntu, I want it to be the same UID as in Debian i.e. "rrs". But I cannot change that. I noticed that to change my current LP UID, I need to disable my PPA. I cannot see the option to disable it by myself. I have never used the PPA account so hopefully you might be able to delete it. And then, rename my LP account to 'rrs'.

Hello there:

I was able to rename your account name to ' ~rrs ' as you requested without any conflicts with your PPA. You should be all set now.

Thanks, and regards,

- Stefan
