Dual license code

Asked by David Griffin

Hi

Just a question regarding the status of dual license code on Launchpad. Basically, I'm writing some libraries which will, in all likelihood, be used in commercial software. However, I'm happy to give out the libraries as GPL'd software - it's a similar approach to MySQL, I guess. So my question is is this kind of dual licensing permitted on Launchpad?

Thanks,
- David

Dual licensing is fine. If the primary work of the project is available under a OSS license, your project may use Launchpad's services for free. Some projects choose Other/Open Source and note in the lience information field that alternate licesing is available, or list the kinds of licenses that are available.

Do not choose Other/Proprietary if you choose another option because that will indicate that the project does not qualify for free services.
