Uploading to gsql-ppa (via ftp to ppa.launchpad.net):
Connection failed, aborting. Check your network [Errno 111] Connection refused

check port status:

$ telnet ppa.launchpad.net ftp
Trying 91.189.90.217...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

$ telnet ppa.launchpad.net www
Trying 91.189.90.217...
Connected to ppa.launchpad.net.
Escape character is '^]'.
^]

telnet> quit
Connection closed.

as you can see, 80 port is able to connect, but ftp access is unavailable.

could you explain this trouble?

We're currently experiencing a lot of failures of the FTP server. Please keep retrying and it will be available eventually as it gets restarted.

I am facing the same problem now. Can you let me know what to do? I have tried telnet commands and its exactly the same situation as explained above.

Kartik: The FTP server on ppa.launchpad.net is up, so my guess is that your internet provider is blocking FTP access. Try uploading using SFTP instead:

Can you help with this problem?
