How is the "Select a Package" pop-up supposed to work?

Asked by Uwe Geuder

Questions about Ubuntu have a package field. I have 2 questions:

1. When creating a new question I didn't see any way to specify the package. Did I miss something?

2. After I have created a question I can edit it and open a "Select a package" pop-up. However I can see
only package descriptions(?) but not package names. See screenshot http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/679/lpanswers1.png
I tried with both Firefox and Konqueror. I assume I don't need to try IE ;)

There are two answers to your questions.

1. You do not see a package field because most users cannot choose it. It is better to let someone to choose it after the fact. Most users report questions from the package page in ubuntu. There is a link to ask a question as are links to see bugs:

2. You cannot see the package names because something is really broken. The markup indicates that the description was placed in the name part, and the description is missing.
