karma not updating and one other known issue

this seems to be a recurring issue, but folling the links leads me to beleive the bug i found has been "fixed":

however, i have answered a number of questions but my karma has not increased, i joined LP on 03/21/10. when asking on IRC today i found out people cannot even find me by searching my IRC nick even though its on my LP profile. am i missing somthing? please let me know if i need to do somthing or give more information

Search does not suport irc nicks.
Karma numbers are updated once a day, though your karma actions are recorded throughout the day.

The karma script has run without error for many weeks and I can see that karma is updates for users.

i noticed my karma updated when i posted this question, but does not update when i answer questions in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu.

Many actions listed in karma are worth 0 points. Karma is updated 1 every 24 hours. Your karma is balanced against all other users with karma points,
