Glade and Glade3 information is not correct

Asked by Javier Jardón

Glade: https://edge.launchpad.net/glade

This project is deprecated and is not shipped in current GNOME releases.
The latest version is 2.12.2, not 3.7.0.

Glade-3: https://edge.launchpad.net/glade-3

This is the current project shipped with current GNOME releases
The latest version isd 3.7.0, not 3.0.3

I think the best solution is remove Glade (https://edge.launchpad.net/glade) completely and then rename Glade-3: (https://edge.launchpad.net/glade-3) to https://edge.launchpad.net/glade to avoid confusions.

Yuck this is a prolem. We really must do a better job at preventing people from registering duplicate projects. I agree there is only one project, and that project is named glade. But the proposed solution breaks the packaging links.

There is a lot more work involved to fix this. someone needs to replace all packaging links to glade to glade-3 so that the old project can be deactivated. The new project is missing its license and should be a part of the gnome project. I see that glade already has all the releases downloaded and that it has the identical import of glade/master

I think the easier fix is to move glade-3/trunk series glade, and make you the owner. The head series should be renamed to 2.x and the file-release pattern needs to removed and the duplicate tarball deleted.

Do you prefer option 1 or option 2.

How about rename the current glade project to glade-2 (and fix the release version to 2.12.2) and glade-3 to glade?

Note that the upstream http://git.gnome.org/browse/glade is the deprecated project, the currenty active project is
http://git.gnome.org/browse/glade3/

Also, I'm going to ask to the current glade3 maintainers to rename the project to glade to avoid confusions

Okay. I will ask the admins to rename glade to glade2. I will update the head series to remove the glade-3 items.

Can you update glade-3 to have the correct license and make is a part of the GNOME project?

Forcing the status to open so that an admin will see it in his list.

Sure, but seems that I can't edit the project properties. How can I get the needed permissions?

Have:
* renamed glade to glade-2.old, as glade-2 already exists
* made Javier maintainer of glade-2.old
* created an alias for glade-3: 'glade'
* made Javier maintainer for glade-3

Javier, that should give you the perms etc necessary?

Cheers!
- Steve
