Issue with dutch (NL) status / uploading .PO

Asked by Jarret

For a few days our Dutch translation template has showed as 100% untranslated, even though this was after the strings were completed by Tim van der Meij and a few other key translators for Dutch. I've also attempted uploading a complete .PO file that Tim van der Meij sent to me after asking him if he know what was causing the status to return to zero...

Tim mentioned that he was in contact with the Launchpad Translators and that the file was complete, just the status bar was not working properly... However, when our developers imported the Dutch .PO file it shows as 100% untranslated in our software.

Any insight you can provide would be great, thank you.

We're having some performance trouble with the script that updates the statistics, but that should not affect you if the translation and/or imports happen in the same project release series (or Ubuntu release) that you're looking at. In the case of Ubuntu translations, there are also higher-level overviews where it may take a few days for statistics to get propagated throughout the system.

But of course it's not a foregone conclusion that that is what you're seeing. I'd be happy to investigate. Do you have the URL of this template? A template is for all languages, so I take it you mean the "Dutch translation of our template."

Jeroen:

Thanks for your reply. You are correct, I meant to indicate the Dutch translation of the LimeWire template.

This is the Dutch translation we've been having trouble with: https://translations.launchpad.net/limewire/trunk/+pots/limewire/nl/+translate

After the .PO went from complete back to fully incomplete I have attempted to upload the 100% translated back-up .PO file that I have - it's now slightly out of date however and I'm not sure if it can be merged with the updated strings in NL.

There have been some recent translations added to the .PO but it's nowhere near complete. I'm worried that we've 'lost' all the previous work. I've contacted Tim van der Meij (a top contributor that alerted me of the issue) to see if he has any insight on the matter but have not heard back from him yet.

Any advice on the matter would be appreciated. Many thanks, Jarret.

Jarret: it seems to me that this is not a problem anymore. It's close to 100% complete, and I am trying the download right now. Do note that the difference between "green" and "purple" bars in the statistics is in where did the translations come from, but they are both basically "translated". (FWIW, we'll be doing away with this confusion soon)

Please re-open the question if not everything is solved.
