Please import bug data for gnusim8085

Asked by Onkar Shinde

We have recently switched from sourceforge.net to launchpad.net for project management. The project page is - https://edge.launchpad.net/gnusim8085
We wish to import exiting open bugs from SF bug tracker. I have converted the data exported by SF to the format required by LP for importing. I have also validated the XML against the RNG schema.
Update - The fixed XML file is at http://people.ubuntu.com/~onkarshinde/gnusim8085_bugs_20100409.xml.gz

Thanks,
Onkar

Hi, Onkar.

It's probably going to be Wednesday or Thursday of this week before we can get to your bug import. We've got several we're doing at the moment, so it's just taking us some time to get through them all.

Cheers,
deryck

Hi, Onkar.

We still have your bug import in our queue, but it's taking longer to get to that we had hoped. We've got a number of them to do at the moment. We have to do them alongside our other development work, and they can take some time as they require a fair amount of back and forth between the person requesting the import and our team.

We will get to it as soon as we can. I just wanted you to know we haven't forgotten about you. :-)

We will ping here once we've done a test import.

Cheers,
deryck

Can any of the LP devs please provide status update on this bug data import?

Hi Onkar,

It is on our list of imports - there are several outstanding at the
moment and only a few people available to deal with them. Apologies
for the fact that the Janitor expired this. Rest assured that we are
aware of it and will deal with it in due course.

Hi,

I just tried a local import, which had several errors of the form:

BugXMLSyntaxError: element {https://launchpad.net/xmlns/2006/bugs}assignee (name=None) has no email address

So the data needs fixing up and then we can try again.

Cheers,
deryck

@Deryck,

The xml I provided contains blank assignee tags (<assignee/>) to specify which bug should not be assigned to anyone. Isn't that the correct way? If not what is correct way to specify no assignee?

Hi,

assignee tags are optional. If you don't require them, omit them, and things should be fine then.

Let me know when you're ready and we'll try again.

Cheers,
deryck

Local import works fine now. This is ready for import into staging.launchpad.net, and once verified, into launchpad.net. However, we cannot do it this week. We have limited sys admin availability due to the coming Ubuntu release. We will try to get this done next week.

Note: any Launchpad bugs dev can pick this up from me to help clear out bug imports next week next.

Hi Onkar,

I'm going to try to get this onto staging for you today; is the file above the most up-to-date version?

Graham,

The file mentioned in my comment on 2010-04-09 is the most up-to-date version.

Thanks Onkar; I'll get on with getting that imported into staging for you.

That now works fine locally; I'll try to get it onto staging for you shortly.

We haven't been able to get to this today due to sysadmin availability; It's top of my list for Monday morning though, so I'll get it on staging for you then.

Hi Onkar,

It appears you've got some empty <assignee> tags in the file again (I'm seeing the same errors as Deryck mentions above). Please remove or fill in those tags and I'll re-run the import.

Graham,

I believe you were referring to old XML file. I have updated the file URL in question itself to avoid confusion.
