Asked by JimUSA

On the linux compatible wireless cards list found at:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessCardsSupported ,

The trendnet TEW-423PI is listed as working right out of the box with Karmic Koala. It did not work on a Compaq Presario 6000 right out of the box with Ubuntu 9.10. Ubuntu starts but hangs. 1.8 ghz, 383 MB.

I think this should be corrected. The documentation is written for Windows and the box announces Windows compatibility. No mention of linux, and it did not work for me using Ubuntu 9.1. Maybe it won't work for others. If it did work, wouldn't they advertise it?

I tried to contact Bad Hare, the poster, but his link is broken.

Hi JimUSA,

It looks like that page is a wiki page, and open to be changed by users. You can click the "Login to Edit" link on the upper-right corner, create an account, then edit the page yourself.

If you have any questions beyond that, I suggest asking in #ubuntu.

Hope this helps,

mars
