Sending commit messages to mailing lists

The widelands project is in the process of moving away from sf.net. What we had over there was a mailing list that informed people of commits into the SVN. We'd like to keep this for our bzr trunk too. So the question:

Is it possible to send notifications of pushed commits to an external email address?

The usual way to do this is to create a team with the mailing list address as its contact email address and subscribe that team to the branch.
