Hi! please check https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/Guide you'll find 'some' useful information there. Seeing as you are a part of the translation team, maybe you should discuss it and perhaps make a team poll.
Remember that if you still can't find a good translation (or maybe it interfere with other accelerators) you can omit the '^'.
