Some projects have zero levels of fix verification, some have one, some have more than one. So using a bug status to track verification would result in projects having different meanings for statuses, which we want to avoid. Chris, what sort of tracking do you want for tags, and what do you mean by "performance matrices"? (Remember that counting the number of issues fixed/verified in a period is a terrible measure of performance, because issues can vary greatly in complexity.)
