Comment 2 for bug 116

It seems like this is a problem with the folks who first set up the translator-credits convention. It seems like the use-case of someone using a hyphenated string "translator-credits" in some other context is exceedingly small. To be complete, perhaps you could implement some kind of ugly magic comment that could be used to disable the automagic...
A more elegant solution might be to allow the person uploading the POT file to specify a string to be replaced with translator credits. The default or suggested value could be "translator-credits". This would allow alternate strings (translator_credits, etc.) and allow disabling easily.
