Becoming a super-project

Asked by Chris Puttick

The project Open Archaeology is intended to be an umbrella project for numerous related pieces of software ( https://launchpad.net/openarchaeology ) - there are now juciy code-filled subprojects that want to register under the Open Archaeology banner (see Crossbones at https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=172757 and Timesheets at https://sourceforge.net/projects/timerecsystem). There are a number of others in the works, one or two of which will be huge (in archaeological circles, you understand ;) )

How does Open Archaeology become a super-project?

Cheers

Chris

I've registered a project group for you: https://launchpad.net/openarchaeology-project/

You're marked as the owner. You can go ahead and tack on projects to that group; unfortunately I don't have a good way of converting the openarchaeology project to a group (which is why I went ahead and created a new one) but I can help you decide what to do with it.

Excellent, thank you!

Would it be possible for openarchaeology be deleted and recreated as a project group? Or can the URL be redirected to the one that has been created? Deletion would be no problem as no significant work has been done with the project space; but the URL and name has been circulated a bit and it would be great if we could keep it :).

Excellent, thank you. Updated accordingly.

Another related question - how to make Launchpad the default bug
tracker for the super project? Or should that be a new question? ;)

There is no way of doing that today! Joey just pointed out that bug to me. Can you check if a bug is already filed on that topic, and if it's not, file one and remind me of it? As a favor to your overburdened launchpad admin, that is! :-)

Is Bug #109150 - reported last month. I've added my plea for a fix.

Thanks for all your help!
