l2tp-ipsec-vpn in 11.10 unity don't work

Asked by florin

l2tp-ipsec-vpn packages are installed fine and the icon appear in top panel but after I edited the new connection I can't start it because the new connection don't appear if I right click or left click the icon I have only: "Edit Connections...", "Connection information", "About" and "Quit".
I tested this on a physical machine and in virtualbox in a new installed one: both ubuntu 11.10 final 64 bit.

Also when I chose "Edit Connection" I can edit the information entered previously about that connection but strange enough the files: /etc/ipsec.conf, /etc/ipsec.secrets are empty even though I entered a PSK and IP information for that connection.

Any suggestion for solving this problems?

Unfortunately this is a bug (#877083) introduced by the switch to the unity desktop. This bug does not show up when using the gnome desktop.

The bug is fixed in the next version 1.0.2 witch will be released in about 2 weeks.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
