I'm familiar with Jack but not Jack2.

Asked by tekrytor on 2010-06-27

How do I connect midii controllers to apps like zynaddsubfx in Jack2? I don't see the Jack connections or even Jack2. Thanks!

QJackCtl doesn't handle Jack2 properly yet.

I recommend you to use "Patchage" for managing connections,
and "Jack2 Simple Config" to configure Jack.

hm.. we should ask Rui for Jack2 support in QJackCtl...

Patchage seems to be a good workaround for Jack2 midi connectivity. So that did resolve my problem for now.

Would you know of a tutorial on the diffs between Jack and Jack2?

useful information about jack1-vs-jack2... hm, i don't know any tutorials/

I know that Jack2 doesn't have alsa-midi emulation yet (you'll need 'a2jmidid')
Jack2 has dbus support, while Jack1 needs a patch to get it.
Also the new "jack-session" is only being develop for Jack1, but should come to Jack2 shortly
