Duplicate Payees or Categories name

Hi,

I have some payees and Categories witch have the same name.

This is not an hazard, it's because I renamed one of them to be the same as an other.
For example, let's say : I had Payee-name and Payee-name2, and I renamed Payee-name2 to be Payee-name. I was expecting, in doing this, to have at the end only one payee pointing to all the transactions of Payee-name + all the transactions of Payee-name2.
In fact I have the Payee-name twice, each of them with a part of transactions.

My user point of view is that we need to be able to change the data organisation. I am not sure this is possible with KMM. I do it by the past on another accounting software it is maybe for this reason I wanted to do it again.

Is it normal to have such a behaviour ?

You can have duplicate names, I think.

You can, however, just delete one of them, and you will be prompted which payee you want to move those transactions to.

What do you mean by data organization? Hierarchy, like categories have?

Yes, that's very nice !
It's easy to do and it works fine.

About Data organization, that's to change names for payees and categories and you are right : sometimes to changes hierarchies.
