PPP/ADSL

Asked by Nemes Ioan Sorin

Hi there,

my name is Sorin Nemes - I am from Bistrita - and I just leave UPC Astral for RDS Link.

All good under Ubuntu with pppoeconf CLI ( I just use Ubuntu from its first day - for everyday ).

From November 2008 I start to install KIWI instead of Ubuntu for a lot of my friends ( with broken Wingozee boxes ) - and there I see a GUI which works perfect for RDS pppoe connections. No more, no less.

My question is - where I'll found a .deb or a source - I just drop out my NetworkManager from Ubuntu 8.10 - and I don't like to manually pppoeconf all day long ( sometime connection is broken - then I have to reset manually ).

I observed to my friends with RDS Links in house - they don't had that problem - seem that your pppoe/ADSL GUI app. solve that.

Thanks in advance,
Nemes Sorin

Hmm, I have to respond to myself ...

I just added a kiwi repo > upgrade > reinstall pppoe ( and related stuff ) - then magically the icon was on the right place.

Basically I observed that GUI is a "face" for pppoeconf CLI.

Enfin, nice, problem solved, thanks.
