Lightweight installers for Windows are under discussion here but there is some ongoing disagreement so it is unclear whether we will be able to support smaller installers. If this is important to you one way or the other, you are welcome to add your opinin to the pull request

In the upgrade settings, you can manually specify or select the fastest upgrade file image site to download.
Downloading KiCad in China is very unstable, so I contacted some open source organizations to set up some KiCad mirror download stations.

Can you help with this problem?
