Get KiCad version by terminal

Is it possible to get the current installed version of KiCad by terminal? Example, running `kicad --version`.

The version string cannot be fetched from the command line. I don't think there is much interest in doing this since at the moment we have no command line support for KiCad. At some point in the future this may happen but it is a low priority for the project.
