Feature request: support for git pulling of oficial KiCad part libs

Asked by Ludwig

Nearly every day there are changes to the official component libs of KiCad which is
great sign of activity.
In order to use the new libs in a nice way, I would suggest to add a git pull button to syncronize symbols, footprints (also 3D), and templates with the official repositories at github, while having a config option to add another repository (e.g. a mirror of the official footprints which is managed by an company/organization that deploys KiCad).
This would allow to keep every user who just wants to have EDA and does not know much about coding to be up to date with the newset symbols at ease. So every KiCad user could enjoy the giving and taking in the open source community, as he could later open a github account and upload his symbols and request them to be reviewed.

Cheers,

Ludwig

This has be discussed before but no consensus was made to move forward. As with you previous question, I suspect it will be a long time to someone has the time to implement this. FYI, feature requests should be filed on the bug tracker with the importance set to wishlist.

Can you help with this problem?
