Snap operations to key locations of group

I can't find any way to snap the cursor for various operations to a particular point in a group of footprints (primarily footprint origin). Is this possible? For example if I wanted to move a group of footprints using one of their origins as the cursor position. This would also allow snapping a group of misaligned footprints to the grid. Currently it only seems possible to move a group relative to the nearest selected grid point.
