Hotkey for showing/hiding filling in zones

Asked by Felix Pflaum

As a new KiCad user I would like to ask for the following feature to be implemented if possible.

My PCBs typically contain a GND-plane on top and bottom layer. While routing other nets I like to work with the option "Do not show filled areas in zones" to have a clear view of tracks on top and bottom layer simultaneously as well as not being confused by GND-airwires.

My wish would be a hotkey to switch from filled mode to not filled mode, i.e. Alt+B, and to be able to go back to freshly refilled zones by pressing B.

In my opinion this could be quite a useful feature.

Hi Felix,

Normally one can use 'B' for refilling zones and Ctrl+B for stashing, at least in the nightly (testing) builds. You can list all hot keys by pressing '?', there can verify if these are the right key combinations.

The "problem" with Ctrl+B is, that it immediately brings back GND-airwires, "Do not show filled areas in zones" does not bring them back.

Therefore it would be great to have a choice between "stashing with GND-airwires displayed" (Ctrl+B) and "stashing with GND-airwires hidden" (Alt+B, as I would suggest). The latter can only be achieved by clicking the "Do not show filled areas in zones"-button in the left column at the moment.

Can you help with this problem?
