More efficient way to create new components?

There ought to be a more efficient way for creating new components. Simple human editable specs in a text or csv file, then importing this into the library editor would be quicker and easier. This is already available with third party tools like KiPart, QEDA or Component Builder online but the library editor itself should have this integrated.
