Reverse direction of rotation in Eeschema

Asked by radix

Eeschema in new (4.x.x) releases of KiCad has had the component rotation direction reversed. The old versions used to rotate the components counter-clockwise (to the left/in the positive direction). The new versions rotate them clockwise.

This is really annoying as most "simple" components (resistors, capacitors etc.) have the reference and value fields placed on their right. If you rotate the component to be horizontal, it looks better if the values are placed above the component. In the old release you could do that with a single press of the R key. Now you have to do that three times. Not that the small increase of keystrokes bothers me that much, but I got used to rotating components to the left. That way I usually get a diode rotated one full circle before I get it correct, because I end up rotating it past the desired position or (if I'm lucky) 180 degrees short of the desired orientation.

All that wouldn't be as annoying as it is, if KiCad was consistent with the direction of rotation. Pcbnew still rotates components the correct way! The footprint and component editors also still rotate everything counter-clockwise. Why did anybody have to mess with the direction of rotation in Eeschema in the first place?

So, my wishes are:
-Could you correct the direction of rotation in Eeschema to the previous one (ccw)?
-If not, could you at least have a checkbox somewhere in the settings menu for picking the direction?
