kicad_mod, text status 'hide' and font 'italic', why special?

I'm wondering why the structure for the kicad_mod file does seem to be special for some elements?

There are (at least) 3 elements which don't 'behave' like all the others.

- 'locked' for the module itself
- 'hide' for text field elements
- 'italic' for font elements

They need to appear at a certain position (if they appear) and they miss a descriptor.
I find that very confusing..
