eeschema: can't access library item with same reference name

Asked by Giampaolo Eusebi

i'm a newbie to kicad, so maybe this is just a non-bug.

i've drawn a new lib with a different image of a resistore in a customized library, but when i try to include it in the schematic i got the default one from the kicad provided library.

useful information:
item created in new library called custom.lib with reference name `R'
library included at the top of the library search path
Debian GNU/Linux testing _Wheezy_
Linux iuz-desktop0 3.0.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Sat Aug 27 16:21:11 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux
EESchema build 2012-jan-04 stable wxWidgets 2.8.12 Unicode and boots C++ libraries on 64 bit GNU/Linux

thank you in advance,
GE

This is a known problem. The work around is simple. Give your new component a unique name that doesn't conflict with any other component in any libraries you load into your project. You could change the order of the libraries but this isn't as reliable as a unique component name. There are plans to fix this problem once the new schematic file and library formats are implemented.

Can you help with this problem?
