Kicad Print

Hi,
How can I print a Kicad schematic into PDF file and then perform a text search on this file?

As it currently stands, you cannot print directly to pdf. However, you can print directly to a postscript (ps) file and use a program like GSview or ps2pdf to convert the postscript files to pdf. Unfortunately you will not be able to perform a text search on the generated pdf file because EESchema prints the postscript in vector format. There are no embedded text strings to search. You can always use the find feature in EESchema to search the schematic text.

Sorry but even if you print using a PDF writer/distiller kicad text is 'drawn' so it's not searchable...

As a useful alternative you could use the lister to make a cross reference of the component positions.
