How can I contribute custom footprints to the project?

Asked by Dick Hollenbeck

I have one or more footprints that took me awhile to create, and I think others might benefit from them. How can I contribute them into the Kicad user community?

You should join the launchpad team

      https://launchpad.net/~kicad-lib-committers

and then you can add your stuff to the following project:

    https://code.launchpad.net/kicad-newlib

either into a new branch that you create and manage, or you may add to the main branch there.

Then the Library Maintainer Person will periodically organise, select, and move what is put into this project above, into the production branch here:

    https://code.launchpad.net/~kicad-lib-committers/kicad/library

It is important to capture footprints into a common staging area like described above, especially the more exotic and commonly needed footprints.
