remember what I want docked

Asked by Pedro Bessa on 2011-01-06

I'm using the linux distro Peppermint Ice with the instant messenger imo and the microblogging client Seesmic. I autostart imo and Seesmic in Peppermint Ice. Unfortunately, now everytime I turn my computer on, I have to dock imo and Seesmic, but that's annoying, because computers are about doing things automatically and that's manually. I wish KDocker would remember that I docked imo and Seesmic, so next time I opened them, KDocker would dock them for me.

Are you going to add that feature?

Modify the auto start short cut for autostart imo and Seesmic and put kdocker at the beginning of the launching line. It would look something like: "kdocker imo". I can't give you much more help as I don't know what desktop your using.

When Chrome creates a shortcut to an app in desktop, it creates a file called theappsname.desktop in desktop.

Inside theappsname.desktop, there is:
Exec=/usr/bin/chromium-browser --app="http://www.theappsurl.com/"

So, I changed it to:
Exec=kdocker /usr/bin/chromium-browser --app="http://www.appurl.com/"

Now, when I click that file, guess what? It opens and docks the app! :-)

I meant "http://www.theappsurl.com/" in the changed line.
