File format and size

Asked by Nir Halfon

Hello,

What is the best file format for video recording of online seminars. I tried a few formats:

RAW (AVI) resulted in a very large file (2GB for about 15sec of recording)
H264 (MP4) resulted in a file much smaller (3MB for 15sec)but obviously less in quality. In addition there were no mouse movements and the video was rotated.
Lossless (JPG) and HUFFYUV also created very large files (400MB for 15 sec) although HUFFYUV didn't actually work.
VP8 had the smallest file size but very low quality.

Perhaps I need to change the frame rate. The default is 15. I am recording a seminar which is largely based on a power point presentation so there is little movement.

What do you recommend for a recording of a presentation? The seminar will be around 1-1.5hours long and later on uploaded online. 100's of GB isn't going to work

Thanks,
Nir
