Next releases?

Asked by Luc C.

I just wanted to know if this project is still alive...
This extension of inkscape seems very promising but I don't want to start using it if the project is totally dead and if I can't get any help. I'm afraid to start a presentation and realizing in the middle that there are some missing functionalities and that i have to redo the whole presentation with another software...

I really like this project, it looks light and flexible...

Hi Luc,

I don't consider the project to be dead. However, it is true that I did not find
a lot of time to work on it in the last year. As for the second part of your
question: there is no commercial support for JessyInk. If you find that it lacks
some functionality that you require, you can suggest it, but there is no
guaranty that it will be implemented (and even less so that it will be
implemented in the timeframe you might require). I will gladly try to
incorporate any code (patches or new features) that you provide, but that is
about all I can promise.

My suggestion is that you start out using JessyInk for small presentations and
see if it provides what you need. Furthermore, in the demo file you can see a
selection of effects that are supported currently by JessyInk.

I hope this answer helps you decide whether JessyInk is right for some of your
presentations. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,
Hannes

Dear Hannes,

I too am interested in seeing Jessyink revived! What can I or the interested community do to help you investing more time in it? Bug reports for the version 2 alpha, feature requests, donations? Unfortunately I am no programmer, just a user and fan...

Cheers, Manfred
