Sozi + JessyInk = Prezi on steroïds ;-)

Asked by Samir Saidani

Hi,

I'm playing with JessyInk for my own presentations - a really neat tool...

I'm very interested in mixing classical presentation and prezi-like presentation, and
i'm trying to merge jessyink project with another one : sozi.

Sozi is a quick demonstration on how to achieve prezi-like presentation with inkscape
and a bit of javascript.

Check here :

Source code here :
http://senshu.baierouge.fr/blog/public/Sozi/Sozi-20091208-0745.tar.bz2

I don't have right now the time to mix the two beast, but anyway, just check this out,
and let's see what's happen !

S.

PS: I tried to play with the "view" functionality, but updating views is really too long
to be used as a prezi-like fashion. Sozi is much faster with the idea of adding just areas view,
without any popup box to use.

Hi Samir:

I can see what you mean. Actually, I have been thinking about ways to make the experience with JessyInk better and finding an easier way to define views was one of the most important items on the list. There are a few details I still have to think through, but I don't think it should be very hard to implement a way to define views similar to Sozi. The code is basically there. All one has to do is to rearrange things a little bit.

At the moment, I am working on a bit of a rewrite of JessyInk and I will make sure to incorporate your suggestion in the new design.

Thanks a lot for the idea and should you have any time on your hands at some point, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will try and provide you with any help needed to implement your favourite feature in JessyInk.

Cheers,
Hannes
