Looping & Automatic Transitions

Asked by Rob Smith

Ideally I would like to be able to define a start point, each 'view' along the presentation and how long it should stay at each view (instead of a manual transition to the next view, I want the ability to auto trigger it after X seconds).

Also I would like to be able to go from the last defined 'view' and loop back to the first view and restart the automatic presentation.

Hi Rob,

thanks a lot for your question. I think it should be fairly straight forward to implement an auto-play feature. There is actually already a blueprint for it available (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/jessyink/+spec/autoplay). However, as I am planning to move JessyInk to a new architecture, I did not want to add to many new features before version 2.0.

As things stand at the moment, I finished work on version 1.5, which I intend to publish tomorrow. Afterwards, I can get started with the work on version 2.0 (which I suppose will pass through an alpha and beta stage). Receiving your question made me realise that the auto-play feature is more popular than I thought. I will therefore prioritise it and try to implement it in the next version.

On thing I was curious about is whether it would be sufficient for your use to have a fixed wait time between each effect/transition or would it be required to have a distinct wait time for every effect/transition?

Cheers,
Hannes
