possibility to halt the slide counter?

Asked by Haldor

If have two issues:

1)
When using the auto-texts tools, there are cases when it is useful to temporarily halt the slide counter for one or two slides.
Of course, a workaround could be to put the content of these slides onto a single slide and successively make the content appear using "effects".

2)
Further, it would be nice if one could temporarily hide certain auto-texts elements (which were defined on the master slide).
Here, a workaround would be to cover these auto-text by some elements that look like the background.

For 1) and 2), are there more elegant ways?

Hi Haldor,

thanks a lot for your questions. At the moment, I think the best options are the workarounds you mentioned. The issue with hiding the auto-text (or other master slide) elements on certain pages, I am planning to address in version 2.x by making the master slide system more flexible. My current plans are to design the system in a way that people can decide which master slides to use on a page per page basis.

Halting the slide counter could potentially be done by introducing an additional element for setting the slide counter to a certain number. However, I still have to think about the consequences of doing so. Most likely I will end up having two counters. One for the "real" slide number and one for the number that is used with the auto-texts.

Cheers,
Hannes
